Although there is currently no cure for the WannaCry Ransomware that hit the NHS on 11th May 2017, there may be hope for those attacked in the past.
Kaspersky labs, Intel Security, Europol, and the Dutch Police to launch No More Ransom, a free online portal which provides keys to unlocking encrypted files, as well as information on how to avoid getting infected in the first place.
We have always suggested either imaging (a special type of backup) or removing the disk drive of computers that have been affected and keeping it in a safe place for the future.
We always hoped that clever people would find ways to un-encrypt the computers or the the criminals are caught and the software keys recovered.
If you have been the victim of encryption in the past, visit the No More Ransom website or site or get in touch with us and we can give the tools a try.
Best of luck.
